The final word is that this scanner, in spite of being dated, works quite well even by modern standards. Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store, unless the item is handmade or was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag.

Very pleased with my purchase. I had a Kodak 35mm scanner that took much better quality scans, but couldn't feed well and developed eppson hot pixel streak.

It's in better shape than my old one and the interior scanner bed glass is cleaner, giving me a better, more consistent scan. However, you will need to do some investigating to make it work under linux. For me it is so-so on scanning slides and negatives, but excellent for flatbed stuff.

Trending Price New. I already had a scanner that was several years old when something in the light bar 620h system went on the fritz and it wouldn't function.
